- Overview
Team Impulse Online Community is an automotive enthusiast club based in the DC Metropolitan Area. It is a community of friends who partake in many events such as car shows, drag racing, drifting, and autocross sessions. As one of the founding members, I volunteered to maintain the website and oversee various agendas.
The Team Impulse site is currently in its sixth rendition. Many tweaks were made to energize the forums and brand. The first action of course was to modify the logo. The base02 typeface of the old signature was replaced with a clean, bold, sans-serif. Altering the logo in this manor allowed it to be easily manufactured into a decal.
The layout was also rearranged and was based off Patriot Design Site. Members liked the rotating picture banner on the splash page of the previous design. Furthermore, they wanted to have it incorporated into the forum pages. This was mainly because many members were entering the forum index via bookmarks.
So the splash page was dropped and the rotating banner was place in to the forum template. With the site remodeled, activity of the forums has increased.
