Web Design 2009
Strano Performance Parts is an American parts company that specializes in, but not limited too, F-body suspension work. It is a small family owned business with a modest site. While this site is simple, it lacks polish and pizazz that would make the website feel more up to date. This is important when selling products over the internet. The user should feel confident in the sites integrity and security. Unfortunately, sites that tend to be displayed in this manor can give them impression that it has not been monitored or updated for some time, and could potentially alienate some customers.
The goal for this case study was to improve the appearance and usability of Strano Performance Parts in order to attract more customers. Before designing the layout, attention was placed on creating a more eye-catching logo. The gears might be a bit cliche, but I feel it works for this company.
One thing I noticed on their current website was that they included a rather small image of a Camaro. As they specialize in these kinds of cars, it should have more prominence. To rectify this issue, the main banner includes a dominate photography of the new (and quite gorgeous) 2010 Camaro. By involving an exceptionally contemporary car into the design, it establishes the site is up-to-date and aware of new developments. A search box and Best Sellers list was also added to improve usability.
