Oldies but Goodies
When focusing my portfolio section, I mainly wanted to showcase what I do as a profession. Unfortunately this means removing my illustrations, as this is something I do on the side for my own enjoyment. But don’t fret, in this blog I have included some of my favorite works from the past, ranging from fictional comics to Street Fighter Pinup posters.
Since I was young, I have always had a love for comic books and animations. Much of my style is heavily influenced by such artists as Joe Madureira, Kosuke Fujishima, and Hyung Tae Kim. In this entry, I have highlighted three of my favorite digital paintings. Further work can be viewed at my flickr account.
Ken Masters
A somewhat quick render of Ken Masters for Shoryuken’s weekly character sketch. Ken has always been one of my favorite characters among the Street Fighter series. This piece btw, was motivated by the Street Fighter Alpha movie.
Woods of Kila
This is an original piece which contains a character of mine called Julia. She is along the lines of a seductive bad girl (aka a thief), and her shadowy deranged crony is just as bad. If I get some more free time I will try and come back to the unfinished piece and touch it up here and there.
Samurai X
I am a big fan of the Kenshin series but am a bigger fan of Samurai X (prelude series of Rurouni Kenshin). For this piece, Kenshin is wearing an attire similar to the clothes in Samurai X (his childhood period). As for the sinister villain in the background, he is an original character of mine.
