5884 Sketch
Online identities are always fun to create. You can redefine yourself into anything you can imagine. It can be anything from a wise cracking cool guy, to a humble UFC champion. Online identities give you the freedom to project how you see yourself or how you want others to see you.

Previously I went by Artboy5884, which represents my youthful and urban art direction. It has evolved as I have developed from high school to college, becoming a brand that is used on anything from resumes to business cards. However, as I have graduated from college, I have outgrown this pseudonym. Thus, I find myself in a position to redefine myself once again.

On my first attempt to create a new identity, I decided to simply drop the “Artboy” and use “5884” as an alias. Initially, the idea of using numbers as a name seemed cool, but “5884” sounded too cumbersome when read out aloud. After doing a bit of word mapping, I came across the word elusive. Dictionary.com defines elusive as “eluding clear perception or complete mental grasp; hard to express or define: an elusive concept.”

Elusive contains a certain level of mystery that intrigues me. I have always eluded the nature of using my real name and constantly signed things as A4. Besides sounding cool, elusive, reflects my desire not to be labeled or defined in stone. Artboy5884 and Elusive84 essentially represent the same thing; except elusive deviates into a more mature direction.
